More About Koa

I Dream was founded by Daniel ‘Koa’ Beaty aka Koa. Koa is an award winning actor, singer, writer and activist.
His work is deeply rooted in a desire to tell stories that illuminate our shared humanity by giving voice to the voiceless and often overlooked in our society. Raised in Dayton, Ohio, Koa grew up the child of a heroin addicted, incarcerated father, and younger sibling to a brother addicted to crack cocaine.
Koa learned early on that the arts can help heal childhood trauma, transform pain into power, and inspire a new generation of changemakers to dismantle systemic racism and oppression. Koa has spent his life telling stories that share both the truth of who we are as people and his hope for a better world. He believes these stories have the power to move us and inspire us, as individuals and as a society, to transform ourselves and the world: to confront our pain, imagine a better world, and work together to achieve it.
With personal and professional experience working with many types of communities facing various forms of trauma, Koa presents I Dream, a platform to serve more communities utilizing the power of modern day technology tools and instilling the culture and values of his work into a curriculum. Now, with demand for his curriculum and programs at an all time high, Koa is cultivating a community of artists, activists and entrepreneurs to carry out his work in partnership with various communities, corporations, foundations and nonprofits.
